Do you love animals and want to help them? Then ARF is the place for you! ARF now offers 5-hour community service days to students grades 6-12. Modeled after ARF’s popular Critter Construction Camp, community service days create projects to benefit ARF’s shelter animals. Examples of projects include:
creating enrichment items such as toys, ice cubes, etc.
stuffing Kongs® and other food puzzles
planting cat grass
building, sanding and painting cat play boxes
constructing scratching posts
sewing cat beds
and more!
A staff member and ARF volunteers will be present to provide instruction and supervise work teams. Older students are encouraged to help younger students complete their projects. As a thank you for your hard work, ARF therapy animals will be on site to supervise, test out your projects and offer a furry high five for a job well done. There will be no interaction with ARF shelter animals.
Interested students should complete a class application and return it to ARF at least two weeks before the desired project date. Existing volunteers may complete and return page 6 of the application only. All skill levels are welcome.
