	Adoption Hours at ARF 2890 Mitchell Drive Walnut Creek Thursday and Friday 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Noon - 5 p.m. Adoption fees: Cat $50 Kitten under 6 months $125 Dog $225 Puppy under 20 weeks $250 Dogs and Puppies include a 60% discount on their first seven week session of training classes.

Private Adoption Program

If you have an animal you want to place…

For residents of Contra Costa County, California who have a pet they are no longer able to care for, ARF may be able to help. While ARF is unable to accept animal surrenders from the public, it may be able to assist in finding a home through ARF’s Private Adoption Program.

If the dog or cat is spay/neutered and current on vaccinations, ARF’s Private Adoption Program allows guardians to schedule a time to bring their animals to an ARF outreach program or mobile adoption in order for guardians to personally meet and find potential adopters for the animal. ARF does not provide a guarantee that the animal will be adopted. 

The guardian must stay with the animal at all times during the ARF community outreach/mobile adoption.  ARF will not accept responsibility for caring for or adopting the animal.
